Alderley Park, Nether Alderley is a former country estate redeveloped as a unique and desirable residential community within a historic landscape. Barnes Walker have worked with developers PH Property Holdings to enhance the existing landscape features and compliment the new architecture. Cedar Square, The Serpentine and The Ride all have a strong structure of evergreen planting and celebrate key views and vistas across the estate. Many of our projects are located in unique natural landscapes. This scheme adjacent to a lake set parameters for the design of the landscape. Planting and structural features are placed to frame views of the water and to soften level changes. A level upper lawn is proposed for functional use, with a more intimate and secluded hot tub, bbq and fire pit area situated next to a new lake house. By setting these elements within an embankment and in front of a retaining wall, the new garden is anchored in the landscape.

Planting is an important structural element in any garden. Designing generous and wide borders can help create a mature character in a new space. These two images were taken a year apart, showing how quickly planting can establish and the impact that a bespoke planting design can make.

We were recently awarded the ‘Best of Houzz Design 2021’. Houzz is a website and online community about architecture, interior design and decorating, landscape design and home improvement that allows users to create their own virtual ‘Ideas Book’ to inspire their own projects.

The two images above are our most ‘saved’ photos. Our sunken terraced garden has gained over 14,000 saves and has earnt us the ‘100K saves’ badge.
